MEL DEL PADRÍ:
The Mel del Padrí originates from the Natural Area of National Interest of the Prades Mountains, in Mas d’en Viñas, municipality of Arbolí, province of Tarragona. During the spring and summer the swarms are part of a natural landscape at more than 800 m of altitude, and in winter due to the low temperatures that these places reach, they move to the coast reaching 200 or 300 meters. Our honey has a history of five generations, it began to be produced as a hobby and little by little it has become a family benchmark. In order to preserve all the properties and offer a quality natural product, the traditional method of extraction and handling is still used today, without the application of heat treatment. Therefore crystallization is natural during winter.
